COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
CLEANING COMPOUND, MASONRY SURFACES
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this Commercial Item Description.
This description covers 5 classes of controlled release acidic compounds for cleaning dirt and grime from masonry surfaces with minimum damage to the surface.
Salient characteristics:
The masonry cleaner shall be of the following classes:
Class 1- For occasional small areas of extremely dirty or weathered unpolished stone and concrete surfaces.
Class 2- For limestone, sandstone and uncolored concrete.
Class 3- For unpolished granite or marble, field stone, unglazed terra cotta, asbestos shingles, fire brick, colored concrete and stucco.
Class 4- For terrazzo, travertine and marble floors.
Class 5- For polished stone, flagstone, brick, slate, unglazed ceramic tile such as quarry tile, glazed terra cotta, glazed and baked enamel.
The products shall be the referenced brand name product or equal to the referenced product in ability to clean the appropriate masonry surface and shall not damage the masonry surface more than the referenced product:
Class 1- Klenztone No. 1-E
Class 2- Klenztone No. 1
Class 3- Klenztone No. 2
Class 4- Klenztone No. 3
Class 5- Klenztone No. 4
