COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION

WAXING AND CLEANING COMPOUND, IRONER

The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this

Commercial Item Description in lieu of Federal Specification O-W-1359.

This commercial item description covers a creamy, lump-free, water emulsion paste wax designed for keeping ironer chest clean, polished, and lubricated.

Salient characteristics:

The percent solvent content shall be not less than 14.0 or more than 18.0 when calculated as follows:

                100 percent- (percent water content + percent non-volatile).

Certification. The contractor shall certify that the product offered meets the salient characteristics of this description and that the product conforms to the producer’s own drawings, specifications, standards and quality assurance practices and is the same product offered for sale in the commercial marketplace. The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for under the provisions of the contract.

Packaging and packing. The waxing and cleaning compound shall be packaged and packed in accordance with normal commercial practice to insure delivery at destination, to provide for redistribution by the initial receiving activity, and shall be acceptable by common carrier under the National Motor Freight Classification and Uniform Freight Classification.
