Performance characteristics. The waxes , when used in accordance with directions for use, shall produce a lustrous surface, free from tackiness, streaks, or smears, and be resistant to soiling and detergents.
Physical characteristics. The waxes shall be free of grit or abrasive matter, and Types I and II shall be dry to the touch at the end of 15 and 20 minutes, respectively.
Stability. For Type I, fill stoppered graduated 100-ml cylinder with a uniform sample and leave undisturbed for 24 hours at 25 + 1o C and determine the degree of settling. Separation should be less than 5 percent. For type II, examine the sample of paste wax after standing in a closed container at 30 + 1o C for 24 hours followed by 24 hours at 25 + 1o C. There shall be no separation of solvent from the wax.
The issue of ASTM D 56, 217, and 2834 in effect on the date of the solicitation shall be used to determine compliance with stated requirements.
Regulatory requirements. Labeling data shall be in accordance with the Federal Hazardous Substance Act Regulations 16 CFR 1500.
Preservation, packaging, packing, labeling, and marking. The preservation, packaging, packing labeling, and marking shall be as specified in the contract or order. Each container label shall include directions for use.
NOTES: Purchaser should specify type and class.
