1. Scope. This commercial item description covers ready-to-use and antifogging liquid glass cleaner for cleaning and polishing of glass surfaces, plastics, ceramics, chrome, painted surfaces, and stainless steel.
2. Types. The glass cleaner shall be of the following types:
Type I - Regular
Type II - Antifogging
3. Salient characteristics:
3.1 Flamability. The glass cleaner shall not be flammable. When used as direct on the label, the glass cleaners shall not be toxic as defined in the Federal Hazardous Substances Act Regulations (16 CFR 1500 3(6)(5).
3.2 Flash point. The flash point of the glass cleaners shall not be less than 49oC (120oF) when tested as specified in ASTM D 56.
3.3 pH. The pH of a 1 percent solution of the ready-to-use glass cleaner is distilled water shall be not less than 6.5 nor more than 11.0 when tested as specified in ASTM E 70.
3.4 Cleaning performance. When tested by CSMA Test Method DDC-09 for Glass Cleaners, the glass cleaner shall be equal or better in performance than the reference glass cleaner in cleaning, streaking and smearing.
