Rinsing properties. The product shall be free-rinsing when tested as follows: Prepare synthetic hard water by dissolving 0.404 g calcium chloride dihydrate and 0.136 g magnesium chloride hexahydrate per liter of final solution at 25oC. Place 0.5 g of the hand dishwashing compound and 98 ml synthetic hard water into a clean and spotless 250 ml Erlenmeyer flask at room temperature.
Stopper the flask and shake vigorously for 1 minute. Pour out the solution. Rinse the flask with three 75 ml portions of synthetic hard water. Invert the flask and allow to dry. Rinse another clean and spotless 250 ml Erlenmeyer flask with three 75 ml portions of synthetic hard water. Invert this flask and allow to dry. There shall be no more residue in the flask into which the dishwashing compound was placed than in the flask which was rinsed with hard water alone.
3. Product Conformance. The products provided shall meet the salient characteristics of this commercial item description, conform to the producer’s own drawings, specification, standards, and quality assurance practices and be the same product offered for sale in the commercial market. The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance.
4. Notes.
4.1 The contractor may use his normal quality assurance procedures for manufacture of this product; however, should a disagreement arise between the Government and its costumer or between the Government and the manufacturer concerning compliance to salient characteristics of this commercial item description, the test methods and the test stated in this commercial item description will be used to determine compliance of the product.
