3. PACKAGING
3.1 Packing. Five, 15, or 55 gallons of detergent shall be packed in polyethylene drums conforming to MIL-D-43703. Five and 15 gallon containers shall be provided with a reclosable dispenser.
3.2 Palletization. When specified (see 4.2), containers shall be palletized in accordance with load type XIIa, XIIb, or XVII of MIL-STD-147. Each prepared load shall be bonded with primary and secondary straps in accordance with bonding means K and L or film bonding means or P.
3.3 Labeling. Each container shall be labeled in accordance with the Federal Hazardous Substances Act. In addition, the following information shall be marked on each container:
CAUTION: DO NOT USE IN DISHWASHING MACHINES OR ON AIRCRAFT SURFACES.
3.4 Marking. In addition to any special marking required by the contract or purchase order, shipping containers and unit loads shall be marked in accordance with MIL-STD-129.
4. NOTES
4.1 Intended use. The detergent is intended for washing clothes and cloth either in the field or by fixed laundry wash wheels.
4.2 Ordering data.
a. Title, number, and date of this document.
b. Size drum required (see 3.1).
c. When palletization is required (see 3.1).
